Subject and title[]
Scott wanted to draw a scene from the GEICO TV commercial in which the two young women on the treadmills are wearing rival hockey team shirts (the National Hockey League teams Philadelphia Flyers and Boston Bruins).
The title Hockey rivalries are tough comes from the line used in the commercial: "Hockey rivalries are tough, but saving money with GEICO is easy."

Scott started out with a pencil sketch, then inked the final line work. He then scanned the drawing and added color digitally in Paint Shop Pro.
