TV Animation - 1950-1956 is 2018 fan art by W. Scott Pattullo. It is one of the installments in Scott's History of TV Animation series.
History[]
Scott completed the piece on September 29, 2018. He uploaded it to his DeviantART page the next day. On March 8, 2021 it was posted to his Instagram page.
Subject and title[]
Because of his love of TV animation, Scott decided to do a little research and create a series of drawings for each year, depicting some of the TV cartoon characters that debuted those particular years. The characters are Paddy the Pelican (The Adventures of Paddy the Pelican - 1950), Winky Dink (Winky Dink and You - 1953) and Gumby (Howdy Doody - 1955 and The Gumby Show - 1956). In doing his research, he found that the first Gumby cartoon actually aired as an animated segment on Howdy Doody in 1955. Because of it's popularity, Gumby got is own series soon after. So both are listed here.

Scott started out with a pencil sketch, then inked the final line work. He then scanned the drawing and added some digital work in Paint Shop Pro.
